Antiques & Estates Auction featured the contents of the estate of Marie Eaton of Westwood, We broke all attendance records at this sale, we even had the Canton Fire Department checking on our occupancy permit due to standing room only with over 300 registered bidders. The sale featured antiques to custom furniture, glass, porcelains, sterling silver, German stems, art work, and collectibles. A Charak mahogany dining room set sold for $5,500. Victorian dresser $1,100. Nippon planter $450. oak bookcase $750. Roseville “Pinecone” jardinière $400. a custom mahogany silver chest reached $800. Carnival glass lot settled at $575.

FIREARMS & MILITARY AUCTION
Featured several private collections which included antique firearms, sporting and hunting rifles and shotguns, a selection of modem handguns and rifles. Also offered were WWI and WWII firearms and military items. The sale was well attended with over 200 licensed firearms dealers and many collectors. Gabriel’s is a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer.

FINE ANTIQUES AUCTION (Sessions 1 & 2) were conducted on the contents of a large 25 room Grand Isle, Maine Victorian bed & breakfast, The sale attracted b idders a s far a way as California and Texas. Many N. England dealers were present along with several owners of Victorian bed & breakfasts. The sale featured Victorian furniture which included several bedroom suites, many parlor suites, hail tables, parlor tables and stands, 3 dining room suites and other high style furniture & furnishings. Many paintings, tapestries and lighting were also offered. Highlights: Three piece Victorian marble top bedroom suite, which was once owned by the estate of Charles Laughton of California sold for $5,000. Victorian triple door bookcase fetched $6,000.

ANTIQUES & ESTATES AUCTION
A good selection of antiques from the Federal period, American Empire, Victorian thnu 1940’s. Fine glass & china, artwork, Steinway piano, decorative lighting, silver, oriental rugs and many fine decorative accessories were sold. Highlight: 1991 BMW 535i sedan with 100k sold for 15,000. Sterling silver coffee service reached high bid of 5,600. mahogany dining room set 4,000. carved oak hutch 1,200. sterling flatware service by Tole brought 1,200. a carved Empire poster bed reached 1,550. Hepplewhite bow front chest fetched 2,500.

 

Another Success Story: An older gentleman from Sharon needing funds decided to consign and sell the only remaining item owned by his deceased wife; a Cauldron L TD dinner service for 12. The pre­auction sale estimate was 3,000 – 4,000. Active phone bidders from several states pushed the set and it soared to a final bid of 12,000.

A large crowd attended mostly by dealers and collectors from the New England area. Highlights of the sale included: Carved whalebone sail boat 1,200. Roseville jardiniere “Magnolia” 425. pr. custom mahogany serpentine front chest of drawers by Beacon Hill 1,540. oak upright concert grand piano, manuf. by Geo. Bent, Chicago sold for 1,000. Paines bedroom set 2,100. Weller figural frog 300. Marine painting signed J.A. Codman 5,600. Pairpoint table lamp with reverse painted shade 2,200.

The sale featured a large collection of Royal Doulton character jugs; a Kranieh & Bach baby grand piano sold for 2,000. old tool chest with molding planes 325. Arts & Crafts style china closet 1,050. antique desk with ivory and marquetry top 2,300. ornately carved oak tall chest of drawers 1,000. and a carved oak secretary desk 880. a carved Burma jewelry box with lizard and snake sold for 200. solid mahogany dining room set went for 4,500.

RESTAURANT LIQUIDATION
Court Street Cafe – Plymouth, MA

Complete liquidation of the restaurant including entire kitchen, pizza ovens and related restaurant equipment, refrigeration and more. Many local businesses, pizza as well as breakfast & lunch establishments attended all looking to add equipment to their existing facilities. Several dealers a Iso attended purchasing items for re-sale.

TOY TRAIN AUCTION featured two private collections. Offered lots included pre-war, post war and modem Lionel, American Flyer and a collection of G-scale. Items included steam locomotives, diesels, rolling stock and many accessories. Gabriel’s has been conducting toy train sales for the past 20 years.

ANTIQUES & ESTATES AUCTION featured the complete contents of the Estate of Ralph Osgood, former attorney who practiced in the Norwood area. Over 300 bidders attended this event which offered fresh merchandise collected throughout his lifetime. The highlight of the sale was a signed Handel scenic reverse painted table lamp having a bronze base which reached a top bid of 8,800.

A Victorian roll-top desk, all original, sold for 3,500.

One karat diamond solitaire ended at 2,800. ruby and diamond necklace 1,100. and a 14k mesh choker brought 1,100. Victorian Bradley & Hubbard parlor lamp 400. oak single door bookcase 800. sterling silver flatware service for 12 at 1,900. banjo by Fairbanks “Little Wonder” sold at 440. custom mahogany inlaid desk fetched 700.

AUTO BODY REPAIR — RE: DEWEY’S AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR, CANTON
A large crowd attended with over 100 registered bidders, many from auto repair shops throughout the New England area. They came to bid on late style frame, spray and shop equipment, tools and accessories, compressors, and a selection of office furniture.

The highlight of the sale featured the owners 1966 AC Cobra 427 replica with a top bid of 24,000.
